Schedule 2010

(To get to the lyrics which used to be on this page go to Music)

What We've Been Up To

We just got back from our western tour, springtime on the prairies, and are now putting in our kitchen garden.

What We're Going To Be Doing

2010 Massively Important Summer Theatrical Events!

THE FIXER-UPPER!
from the novella, which the good people at Acorn Press published last year, "The Fixer-Upper". and which in turn is an adaptation from the play I wrote called "Tourist Trap" (I hope that's clear.)
I will be performing two small parts, (one in drag), and the astounding Will MacFadden will be taking one of the lead roles, Bruno, while the incredibly remarkable Laurel Smyth will be revisiting her hit starring role as the redoubtable Aunt Tillie. As they say in Italy "Into the mouth of the wolf!"
At THE GUILD in Charlottetown, PEI
10 performances on Saturdays and Sundays over the course of 5 week-ends:
July 17 & 18, July 24 & 25, July 31 & August 1, August 7 & 8, August 14 & 15.
Box Office: (902) 620-3333 - or online www.theguildpei.com

AND

CULTURE SHOCK, The Comedy That Will Not Die (no matter how many times we try to murder it) is being taken up by the Trinity Pageant in Trinity, Newfoundland. It will be performed by the awe-inspiring Rory Lambert, the staggeringly talented Glenn Downey, (star of stage and screen.("Yeah! Fishing stage and screen door!")) and Tina Randell, who I have not had the undoubted pleasure to have worked with, but whose sterling qualities are sung to the heavens by the rest of the cast. All in all, probably the best bit of theatre you'll ever witness, (although "The Fixer-Upper" promises to give it a run for it's money. See both of them and compare for yourself.)
This link Rising Tide Theatre will tell you more about this marvellous group of people at this marvellous festival in a marvellous part of the world you really should go see if you haven't already, and even if you have, then it's probably time to get back and revisit. Marvellous.

This story DOES seem to have legs. I mean, people hear about it and turn up to see what the fuss is about. Probably because it was written for the right reasons, and was allowed to grow on it's own, like fungus. I've also put a link here where you can order a publish-on-demand script of the play if you so desire it.

And now, our...

TOUR LIST FOR MY ONE-MAN SHOW FOR SUMMER AND FALL 2010

These will be performances of the ONE-MAN SHOW we are now calling

"THE UPSIDE OF THE DOWNTURN"

The way the One-man show works is by not staying in one place too long. It's harder to hit a moving target. We have different names for the different tours, and I'm always writing new material, and right now it's in an interesting state. Hopefully, that should always be the case. New stuff emerges pushes old stuff out, old stuff resurfaces and gets put back in with new twists added to it, themes and threads and monologues interweave in new ways, which in turn engender other ideas. The only criteria which are hopefully achieved is that when an audience leaves, they're saying, "Well, THAT was worth it."
It'll never be finished. Somehow, I find this comforting.
